Zu den absoluten Höhepunkten der German Open Championships (GOC), die vom 9. bis 13. August zum 13. Mal in der Stuttgarter Liederhalle stattfinden, zählen die beiden Swarovski WDSF Grand Slams Standard und Latein der Amateure. Die baden-württembergische Landeshauptstadt ist dabei eine von nur fünf Stationen weltweit. Bei der 30. Auflage der GOC – dem größten Tanzturnier der Welt mit insgesamt rund 5.000 Paaren aus mehr als 50 Nationen – sind fast alle Weltstars am Start: Auch die bislang dominierenden Paare der ersten drei Grand-Slam-Veranstaltungen des Jahres. Die GOC bestehen insgesamt aus 42 Einzelturnieren der Profis und Amateure, in Standard und Latein, von den Kindern bis zu den Senioren sowie aus vier Entscheidungen der Rollstuhltänzer. In diesem Jahr werden zudem bei den Europameisterschaften im Boogie-Woogie die Titelträger und Medaillengewinner der Hauptklasse sowie der Junioren und der Senioren ermittelt. Ber
