2014 fällt der Startschuss für das junge, kreative Bandfestival UpBeat Hohenlohe. Gernot Ludwig (ehemals Jazzsymposium Osterburken, GTO), Saxofonist Johannes Ludwig und Marcus Meyer (Intendant Hohenloher Kultursommer) heben das Format aus der Taufe. Bereits im März 2024 stehen die Konzerte der 10. Ausgabe im Kulturkalender, bei denen junge, aufstrebende Jazzbands der wachsenden deutschen Jazzszene an Hohenloher Schulen kommen, um den Schüler/innen improvisiertes Musizieren näher zu bringen. Am Samstag, 9. März um 19.30 Uhr beginnt das diesjährige Mini-Festival mit dem Konzert von Sängerin Fiona Grond und Pianist Luca Zambito in der Hospitalkirche Schwäbisch Hall und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem JazzArt-Festival. Zuvor coachen sie den Chor des Eramus-Widmann-Gymnasiums, der ebenfalls beim Konzert mitwirken wird. Fiona Grond und Luca Zambito zählen zweifellos zu den interessantesten Entdeckungen der jungen Münchner Jazzszene, die seit einigen Jahren kontinuierlich an Profil und Sichtbarkeit gewinnt. Zusammen erkunden sie nun die Tradition des Klavier-Gesangsduos und deren Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Das Ganze folgt dann nochmals am Samstag, 16. März um 19.30 Uhr im Alma Würth-Saal in Künzelsau-Gaisbach (Würth Museum 1) mit der Band Hotties und der Big Band des Ganerben-Gmynasiums. Hotties wollen vor allem eins: Spaß! Ihre fetten Grooves, cineastischen Synthesizer Sounds und energiegeladenen Songs machen einfach Laune. Aus dem Dschungel der Musikwelt haben sie sich das herausgepickt, was ihnen am besten gefällt und ein Programm erstellt, zu dem man am liebsten tanzen, davonfliegen und träumen will.
